This course is designed to provide a review and update of the
Hazardous Waste Operations regulations in accordance with CFR 1910.120.
Students will review the proper methods of sampling, handling, and
transporting of hazardous materials and updates of any changes. The course
will include the following review:
- Understand
the role and responsibility of the employee and be familiar with
applicable federal and state regulations.
- Recognize,
evaluate, and control the potential chemical and physical hazards
present at a hazardous materials emergency/waste site.
- Be
able to select and use monitoring equipment, respirators, and chemical
protective clothing.
- Recognize
the need for establishing decontamination procedures for personnel,
equipment, and the environment.
- Be aware of the elements of
an emergency response plan and roles of the employees within the
incident command system.
